1. Introduction
KGT Learning is committed to protecting the privacy of all learners. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which governs access to and disclosure of student education records.
Our approach to privacy is based on data minimization:
We collect and retain only the information necessary to provide educational services to enrolled students. We do not store or track any personal information from visitors who do not register for our courses or programs.
2. Applicability
This policy applies to:
- All KGT Learning programs, courses, and educational services
- All student records and communications managed by KGT Learning
- All employees, contractors, and service providers handling student data
3. Information We Collect
a. Visitors (Non-Students)
- We do not collect, store, or track personal information from general visitors.
- We do not use cookies, analytics tools, or advertising trackers that identify individuals.
b. Enrolled Students
When you enroll as a student, we collect only the information necessary for instruction and certification, including:
- Full name
- Email address
- Enrollment and course information
- Academic performance (assignments, assessments, grades)
- Certificates of completion
We do not collect unnecessary personal details such as social security numbers, payment card information (if handled by third-party processors), or unrelated demographic data.
4. FERPA Rights of Students
Under FERPA, eligible students have the following rights:
- Right to Access:
Students have the right to inspect and review their education records maintained by KGT Learning.
- Right to Request Amendment:
Students may request correction of inaccurate or misleading information in their records.
- Right to Consent to Disclosure:
KGT Learning will not disclose any personally identifiable information (PII) from student records without written consent, except as permitted under FERPA (see Section 7 below).
- Right to File a Complaint:
Students may file complaints with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures to comply with FERPA requirements.

5. How We Use Student Data
Student data is used solely to:
- Provide access to enrolled courses and materials
- Record and evaluate student performance
- Communicate course-related updates and support
- Generate transcripts or certificates of completion
- Maintain required educational records under FERPA
We do not use student data for advertising, analytics, or marketing purposes.
6. Data Security and Retention
- All student data is stored securely using encrypted databases and password-protected systems
- Access to education records is restricted to authorized personnel with a legitimate educational interest.
- We retain student data only for as long as required to deliver educational services or meet legal recordkeeping obligations.
- When data is no longer needed, it is permanently deleted using secure data destruction methods.
7. Disclosure of Student Information (FERPA Exceptions)
KGT Learning does not disclose student information without written consent, except where FERPA allows limited exceptions, including:
- To school officials with legitimate educational interests
- To accrediting organizations or authorized educational partners
- To comply with judicial orders or lawfully issued subpoenas
- To the U.S. Department of Education or state/local education authorities as required by law
- In all cases, disclosures are limited to the minimum necessary information.
8. Student Access and Requests

9. Data Sharing and Third Parties
If KGT Learning uses third-party services (e.g., learning management systems or cloud storage), those providers must:
- Operate under written agreements ensuring FERPA compliance
- Use student information only for authorized educational purposes
Maintain appropriate data protection and confidentiality safeguards
- KGT Learning does not sell or share student data for commercial use.
10. Children’s Privacy
KGT Learning courses are intended for learners aged 16 and above.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 years of age.
Any such data identified will be deleted immediately.

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in law, technology, or operations. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
